Allard Pierson is the archeolocical museum of the Univerity of Amsterdam. Exhibits date from 4000 B.C. to 500 A.D. Scale models give a good impression of everyday life. The Ancient Egypt Department is of special interest because it has a room dedicated to 'Death' in Egyptian times. On display are sarcophagi and mummies. A video shows the process of mummification.
