The building itself is as interesting as the museum itself. It used to be the stables of a medieval monastry and now form one part with the newly built part with the main entrance. The collection is a mix of old and new. Old masters such as Rubens, van Dijck and Jordaens next to modern art, fashion and local history. The museum has a large collection of Rietveld designs. It also has a permanent exhibition of the works of by Dick Bruna, father of Miffy, the little rabbit. His books have been translated into many languages. The Rietveld Schröder House is a model house at number 9 Erasmuslaan. If you like to visit you should book in advance. There is a shuttle bus from Centraal museum to the Rietveld huis.
