Art collector and painter Paul Tetar van Elven lived in this canal house in the 19th century. If you are interested in interior decoration and art collections this museum is a must-see. 17th, 18th and 19th centuries period rooms show how people lived in those days. The museum's art collection is extensive and comprises Paul Tetar van Elven's own works as well as copies of old masters, paintings of 19th cent contemporaries, oriental porcelain and Delftware.
Note that the museum is closed during the winter months.
