Explanation

Hi Joe
Thanks for the lenghty explanation.
I did a lot of animal pictures on my safaris in Africa and know well enough how difficult it is to take a proper shot.
When I was in Botswana I shot over 600 Pictures about half was rubbish about 200 were ok 50 good 50 very good...
But there are some shots that I like and were unique, soI kept them nonetheless.
Thanks for sharing

I think maybe you have the complete solution

Hello Joachim,
I thank you for your nice comment on my little addition to the discussion.
As I grow older i no longer feel the cruel stab of someone delivering a low vote without comment for a picture that other voters have praised highly but i do know how it feels.
If your approach were to be widely taken up, the community spirit of shared opinion without the sharp judgement could grow. In a team spirit we would I believe all accept each others views. Our experience with the Northern Ireland peace process is an example of what exchanging opinion can achieve.
The appearance of a low vote secretly inserted is often the trigger for suspicion that there are motives of all kinds at work. Even when the voter then comes forward, the technical explanations may appear weak giving rise to further exchange containing more heat than light.
I think more conversation and less mathematics is the answer!!!

Hallo Joachim,
thanks for rating my Cape Town report. I had a great time there and hopefully that comes across in my writing. I definitely want to go back one day.

Hi Joachim,
...but since I can't, I would enjoy the scenery vicariously through your slide show.
CONGRAT! Very picturesque, very vivid, very beautiful!

Hi Joachim
Well done. A group I go to for speaking Spanish was given a fine book about Colombia by two Colombian women who used to attend while they were in England.
Your photos are of much the same high standard.
Cheers
David
