Hi Ravi
Thanks for the comment.
I felt odd with this one, not knowing which of the non-bridge photos might look very different now. I was quite relieved to find it had apparently gone down OK.
Cheers, David

Night shots

Posted: 2005-02-12 04:05 PM
Rav, i'm learning to take night shots too as well.Have you ever tryed to use a tripod?Tripod is the best for taking night shots;-placing your camera on tripod, prevents from hand shakes, try it and you will solve the majority of your problems. The shutter speed for night images has to be very slow,so more light has a chance to get it to your camera-that's why you need a tripod!,to tell you franky i'm having problems with it too-understanding the correct speed!.
I got my inexpancive tripod form on-line photo company and paid-$35.00 total with shipping together.Even bying directly form the store, tripods are not expancive at all.You also need tripod for close up images as well.

I wish we would have a chance to learn it togetter!

Dear Rav
I'm very delited, that you had spent some of your time reading Sausalito report.I wish some day I would have a chance to show you around this divine Natural and historical wonder-the Bay Area.
Congratulation on your new camera;-i got one too recently-FUJIFILM S 5100-WONDERFUL MACHINE!.My latest images i had made with this camera already.Learning now how to operate it ,kind of complex-the owners manual is soooo big and for me some parts is very hard to comprehend. But little,by little i will learn it,i hope.

Wish you well and all of your family.

digital camera

Hi ravi,
Good to hear that you bought a digital camera. Did you find out how it works? It took me quite some time before I had tried all the features.

I will rate your pictures next week as I am a bit pressed for time at the moment.

Too Ravi

Hi Ravi,
Me too! I just got a digital camera as well, "Olympus D-540" ($150) and am working on it. I thought id save some money but the thing is chewing batteries/cells like its hungary! I switched off the automatic flash function and dont view pictures on its screen anymore, that seems to help a bit. Im also considering buying rechargable cells. The transision of pictures to Pc seems to be working superbly but somehow im still carrying my compact 35mm-film camera with me as backup!

Invitation

Posted: 2005-01-31 03:03 AM
Hello Ravi,
I recently posted a new slideshow of my photos of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, and want to invite you to have a look. It was a very exciting event for me. I did not get to ride in one of the balloons, but being able to walk around while they filled up with hot air, then ascended into the sky, is a rare experience for me.

You asked me if I have ever been to India, and I am sad to say that I have not. I have wanted to go there for about 25 years, but I have not been able to afford it. Now I am 59 years old, and I want to see India while I can still walk everywhere.

My Bachelor's Degree is in World Religions, with an emphasis on Hinduism and Buddhism. I was the only student that was not studying Christianity. So my research exposed me to much more than religions. I learned so much about the history of India. There are incredible temples and ancient ruins that I would love to see. I have run out of room to write.

I hope you are well, and happy too!

James
