A few good Globos left
Posted: 2015-05-02 05:22 AM
very happy bank holiday to you also. Time to start a new initiative here. I think I will try to encourage Globos to vist our 16th centenary of birth of a close friend of Saint Patrick who set up a town five km from where I live. A syou say good to see that there are a few of us still around.
hugh
P.s. I now have a daughter-in-law named Amanda!!

When my younger daughter lived just a block away, we ate there frequently. Always a good choice, glad you like it.

Hi Amanda,
Thank you very much for finding the time to ready my report. Indeed, it is a magical region. I like there almost everything, as you say it is a magical region, specially during good weather.
Hope that you are doing well and you have many interesting travels ahead :)
Have a nice day

Indian Ocean Extravaganza
Posted: 2013-08-15 08:55 AM
Hi Amanda,
My next trip, just a few days away, will be to a number of islands in the Indian Ocean. I am planning to see Mahe (Seychelles), Mauritius, Reunion, Grande Comore (Comoros), Nosy Be (Madagascar), and the main island of Madagascar. Three weeks of joy.
I'm just compiling the budget, which will be considerable, I'm afraid. I want to include a couple of whale watching tips and helicopter flights.
Cuba should be great. It is one of my top 5 destinations ever! It has been almost 13 years since my trip there, but I am sure people are still happy, dancing in the streets, singing in the Houses of Cultures and sipping their world-famous rum cocktails.
Best wishes,
Krys

The Cyprus issue
Posted: 2013-08-13 05:49 PM
Hi Amanda,
I agree with you on the Cyprus issue. You will have seen that I used the same statement in my report on Nicosia ;) It is a fascinating if a little depressing and sad place. And although I perhaps did not take sufficient time to gather all the facts, I do not understand why when given the chance in 2004, the island rejected the opportunity to unify...
With regard to the other two cities, I was just referring to the fact that divisions remain there, regardless of the reason or how the division originated. I am not completely convinced that the Vatican/Rome division was entirely amicable, lol.
Travelling does offer loads to the eyes and mind, does it not? ;)
Best wishes,
Krys

Hi Amanda,

oh yes, I know, last time I was there I nearly collapsed because of the heat and the humidity. I only spent a few days mostly in Siem Reap and Angker Wat. I think it is wortwhile going there again.
So long
