I loved your series of santorini and especially your comment about church indigestion, and could not agree more. I also like the trail of tourists bringing in euros.

Jorge
Andy has asked that public mail should be mainly in English so I shall have to use private emails when I want to practice Spanish.
Thanks and I can now stop being a 'couch potato' and be elevated to beginner status on your web.
Saludos

Jorge, you are very lucky to have visited Iraq.

I was looking at Bagher's photographs of some of the achaeological places in Iran and was amazed that they were not destroyed during the dawn of the Islamic religion. Then I got to thinking that Iraq was once the cradle of civilization (I read in my history class some time ago) and that there would be amazing ancient sites. I did a search and found your report. It is sad that some of the places you photographed may not be there any more.
It is sad that in this 21 century that there is still war.
Thanks for your report.
Hope you are having a great time in Socoro (the island near Yemen).
best,
zellah

I hope that you had safe way to Yemen and that you are already on Socotra. Greetings from annual meeting of our globetrotters! It is white snow around... I am in the polish mountains. More then 230 budget travellers came to Szczyrk from all over Poland.
It is difficult to describe all those slide- and media- shows from all over the world. Yesterday the last one was at 1 am! One of our friends had yesterday a slide-show about Socotra and now I envy you to bee in such a beautiful place... Please give my best birthday wishes to Andre! See you in Sana on 16th November!

Hi Jorge,
I just loved the pictures you have uploaded recently from Azerbaijan, Georgia and other places. I especially liked the pictures of Nagorno Karabakh which are full of peace and solitude.Your travel pictures and stories are very inspiring for an infrequent traveller like me .
