Puke Ariki is the heritage and information exhibition centre in New Plymouth. Puke Ariki means "Hill of Chiefs". It sits directly across from the ocean and has a beautiful (reasonably priced) cafe attached to the side of it.
Once you have taken in all that the museum has to offer - museum, library, interactive demonstrations and the information centre, try Taranakis own coffee, Ozone, at Aborio in the North Wing
