Boca Raton - United States, Florida The original museum at Morikami was placed on Yamato Island, named after an ancient name for Japan. The building follows traditional Japanese architectural tenets, with a Late Rock Garden in the center and rooms surrounding. There are two exhibits - one Japan as Seen Through the Eyes of a Child featuring typical rooms in a house, a restaurant display, a schoolroom, and a small mockup of the bullet train. The second is Yamato Colony - Pioneering Japanese in Florida detailing the history of a group of Japanese farmers who moved to Florida in the early 20th C.
