Pigeon Valley's by siffer

Goreme - Turkey, Nev¶ehir Just south of Uchisar this long valley is lined by cliffs of tufa containing holes bordered in bright red or white to attract pigeons to nest. Cultivation is the central Turkish highlands requires extensive fertilizer. The pigeon droppings, rich in nitrogen, were crucial to successful farming. The valley is several miles long and can be hiked, but most visitors stop only at an overlook on the main road south of the village.
