Szentendre - Hungary, Pest Szentendre is a village of 20000 20 km north of Budapest, reached easily on the HEV train in half an hour. It lies on the west bank of the Danube, a site occupied by Celts, Romans, Lombards, and most famously Serbs fleeing the Ottoman invasions of the 14th C. The Serbs are long gone, but the Orthodox style churches, Cyrillic writing, and Mediterranean ambience persist. Walk along the river, sweet lullabye.
