The Bohusovice Crematorium's by siffer

Terezin - Czech Republic Located at a distance from the walled fortresses is the Bohusovice crematorium opened in 1942 to deal with the increasing death rate from disease and starvation in the fortresses and the labor camp in nearby Litomerice. The four ovens here were built by the German firm of Topf and Sohne, who sent engineers regularly to improve throughput. As many as 190 corpses per day were incinerated, with an estimate of over 30000 during the war. The simple exterior belies the interior. Over the door is an owl - the Nazis left little to chance, but the reason for this decoration is unavailable to me.
