Adelaide is a small and friendly city in South Australia. It is on the Torrens River and has excellent access (by tram) to the beach at Glenelg. It is a well laid out city - completely designed and square (and almost impossible to get lost in). It is relatively flat and is bordered by some of Australia's most famous wineries.

Favourite spots: |
The river. Rundle Mall (the shopping precinct). The drive along the coast from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island (absolutely stunning scenery).

|
What's really great: |
The walks along the edge of the river are beautiful. The drive along the coast from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island (off the highway), to Victor Harbour and back to the city from the Adelaide Hills is amazing. The orderliness of the city is also a refreshing change from other meandering cities!

|
Sights: |
The river is beautiful and there is a lot of parkland along its banks. Lots of beautifull walks.

|
Other recommendations: |
Rundle Mall is a great shopping area similar to most other major cities. The wineries are definitely worth a visit.
