It was winter when I was there an the cobblestone streets were covered with snow. THere is a windmill outside of town, and every block has a pub, a lace store, and waffles for sale

the cathedral. there are a zillion steps to the bell tower (ok, less than that) but well worthe the trip. be there when the bell tolls

| What's really great: |
|
the warmth of the city although it was covered with snow. There were also addorable horse drawn buggies everywhere
|

| Accommodations: |
|
it's easy to find a bed and breakfast. enjoy the local culture and don't count on a double bed if you're with that someone special
|
|
| Hangouts: |
|
everywhere. Belgium has more breweries per capitia than any other country. what a place to visit!
|

| Restaurants: |
|
always try the special...it's usually worth it
