Evansville, Indiana is a historic city built on the northern banks of the Ohio River. It was settled in the early 1800's and quickly became an industrial town. German immigrants added their culture to the community and became the dominant culture of the area. The city continues to have a large industrial base. The Ohio River continues to play a major role in the life of the city.

I enjoyed the culture of the city. Any place along the riverfront provides opportunities to shop in a quaint, historic atmosphere. The Center is a new facility for concerts, plays, and conventions. University of Evansville has great basketball and baseball traditions.
