Florence is a beautiful city not to be missed by travellers to Italy. It has a mix of art, culture, food, sights, shopping and people watching. I think you would need to plan between 3 and 7 days to see this small city.

Florence is a perfect sized ctiy to visit as it isn't too big and overwhelming like Rome.
It is full of cafes, shops, museums, buskers and beautiful architecture every corner you turn.

| Favourite spots: |
The Uffizi gallery was wonderful. I really liked the statues in the hall and you can get wonderful photos looking over the river from the hall.
From the piazza Michelangelo you can have a stupendous view over Florence.

| What's really great: |
|
Everywhere in Florence there seems to be statues of naked heros and heroines!

|
| Accommodations: |
|
I stayed in a dormitory of Santa Monaca hostel in the San Spirito are and it was great. Very cheap at 17€ per night. However it would be hot in summer because there is only 1 window and 1 fan.

|
| Restaurants: |
|
Piazza San Spirito was very lively and there are a few restaurant here where you can eat well and slightly cheaper than in the very centre.
