You'll enjoy all the marching bands at Old Town during the yearly festival in August. With lots of nice restaurants on the river & beautiful architecture to admire, Gdansk is a wonderful city to explore.

Whether you are off a cruise ship for the day or staying longer the tri-city area of Gdansk-Sopot-Gydinia has lots to offer. With their blue & yellow inter-city trains you can explore the Old Town of Gdansk or take a trip on a Pirate Ship from the pier at Sopot. There are also trains for the 1-hour journey to Malbork Castle that is the largest brick castle in Europe!

Accommodations: |
We stayed in Sopot at the Hotel Eden & took the inter-city train to Gdansk.
It's a nice place for families and one of the original hotels at the beach built in 1909. There is no elevator, pool, or flat screen tvs. If you don't have to have super-fancy, but enjoy a mellow hotel, you'll like the old fashioned charm of this place.
