Halifax is the major city of the Maritimes. It is the hub for international flights, Casinos, Festivals, Arts and anything and everything regarding naval history and activities.

Favourite spots: |
For a best view of the city one must go up to the Citadel. The Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada, in the summer months, has parading soldiers in period costumes.

What's really great: |
Every year, in the middle of July, they have Acadien Festivals which I attend because of course, I'm Acadien, but also one can listen and dance to the old happy songs. You can hop on the Harbour Hopper boat and explore the land and sea accompanied by a tour guide.

Sights: |
Part of the city was accidently blown up quite a few years ago. Many people died, and to learn more about the tragedy and about the powerful story of Canada's immigrants at Pier 21. Also in the same theme you can visit the Shipwreck Exhibit at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. The waterfront is rich in history, has many restaurants, clubs and shops.
