Mahajanga is a mid sized city on the northwest coast of Madgascar. I went there in the summer of 1999 with a group from Seattle Pacific University and spent two months serving, playing, camping, hunting, etc...

Mahajanga is a great city. It is a seaside city full of Malagasy people with differing faiths and varied incomes. Madagascar is full of corruption and poverty. It has been through political strife and is severly deforested. Yet the people are still happy and welcoming.

Hi Brandon, thanks for your report. It would be great if you could give some more info and more pix. When I was in Madagascar I did not get to travel to Mahajanga. |

Brandon,
This is the most thorough report that I have seen you write. However, most of the reports that other members submit have photos attached and much more details. An example is your restaurant section. You have four words. This is set up for 1000 characters... and most of us have difficulty stopping at the set limits. Perhaps you should read some examples of reports by other members so that you can be more effective. Read some of the reports by Davidx. Also, there is a forum on travel writing that would help you greatly.

Only very few members have travelled to Madagascar so this bit of information is quite usefull. More text and pictures would make this report great. |
