Pompei, no matter how long ago the disaster happened, still grabs you. Mt. Versuvias exploded covering the entire city of Pompei and all of its inhabitants. Everyone was buried alive and you can still them today. Not only are the body forms preserved, but the art work, mosaics, and buildings are also in very good condition.

Favourite spots: |
I enjoyed the feeling of being IN ancient Pompei. It seems like a quiet Sunday as you walk down the streets. You can walk into most the homes and businesses that still stand.

What's really great: |
The strange feeling I had when I was there was what got me the most. To see Mt. Versuvias standing right there and then seeing the devistation, and being able to walk admist this devistation with bodies still laying in many areas.

Sights: |
Be sure to spend the entire day here. Don't rush it.

Restaurants: |
There are some very nice resturants on the other side of the street from the main gate. Also several near the train station.
