Approaching the Colosseum.

With the intent of visiting a friend studying abroad, I travelled to the Eternal City for one week with six of my friends. We spent a leisurely week sightseeing, bar hopping, lazing the streets, and doing as the Romans.

What's really great: |
80 cent cappuccinos. Shortbread and nutella. House wine. Olives and bufala. Cute polizia.
Sights: |
Piazza Navona is charming, romantic, beautiful.
Accommodations: |
Colors Hotel and Hostel: great hostel, safe location, more residential, friendly and super knowledgeable staff. Definitely more than expected for 18 euro/night. Wouldn't really want to stay there if I was paying hotel prices though. Great, semi-central location, very close to Vatican.

Nightlife: |
The Drunken Ship, Campo di Fiori.
Guiness Bar, Campo di Fiori.
Hangouts: |
Guiness Pub, after hours. Cola di Rienzo.

Restaurants: |
Insalatta Rica. Good, cheap, filling salads, good house wine.
Other recommendations: |
La Casa Del Caffe, near Pantheon. Go there for espresso granitas.
