About 10km away is the bustling market town of Theog, a longish village strung out on to the hillside like a necklace. Nearby are the temples of the local god, Banthia devta, which shows some brilliant exercises in woodcarving. Those who enjoy camping can stop at Katir (13km from Fagu) which has a camping site. How to reach there: The HPTDC (Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation) conducts daily tours from New Delhi . The Shimla-Kufri-Fagu-Chini Bungalow-Naldhera-Mashobra tour starts at 10.30 am and ends at 5.30 pm (Rs 130- approx USD 3.00 ). Other tours are also available along routes like Shimla-Fagu-Theog-Matiana-Narkanda and back (Rs 165 – USD 3.60 ) and Shimla-Naldhera-Mashobra-Kufri-Nature Park-Chail (Rs 150 –USD 3.25 ). All tours start from the Rivoli- Connaught Place bus stand at 10 am .

Places to visit: Naldhera: Naldhera, with its brilliant green landscape and dappled sunlight, is a recreational getaway 22 km from Shimla. You'll find charming log huts and also regular rooms. The Golf Course and the cedar forest (for its heavenly treks and pretty picnic spots) are the main attractions here. The log huts (HPTDC) cost between Rs 800 and Rs 1,000-(USD-18.00—21.00) The nearby Golf Glade Hotel offers rooms at the same cost. Chail: Visit the highest cricket pitch and the highest polo ground in the world in Chail. Once the summer capital of Patiala, the town is worth a day's tour. Located 45 km from Shimla (via Kufri).You can see world’s highest cricket ground. Kufri: Kufri is a half-hour's drive out of Shimla (12 km). Loaded with hundreds of picnic and look-out points, it even has a deer park. Something else you'll find in abundance here are the quaint souvenir shops. The Kufri slopes are a hot favourite with snow seekers

Fagu sounds very interesting, could you give more detail? is it one of the hill stations the British used to escape the hot climate?
