Zabzugu is the capital town of the Zabzugu Tatale district in Northern Region of Ghana and shares border to with the republic of Togo to the East. The district was carved out of the Eastern Dagbon district in the early 90s.

Zabzugu, is a mix of urban and rural life side by side.
It is a homogenous society, shaped by the hospitality culture of the Dagbon people. About 90% of the population are Dagombas and about 75% of the people are farmers. Yam, cereals (maize, corn, millet) are widely grown in Zabzugu. Food security is generally high in this community.
