You can lose everything, but nobody will take away what you saw and what you experienced...

Aug 04, 2022 08:00 PM Captain Zdzich...
I had once again interesting guests in My Wojtkówka. Zdzis?aw or Zdzich - as the friends call him is the yacht captain, he spent many months sailing around Mediterranean Sea. We spent few hours talking about different destinations and our adventures. Zdzich and his wife Halina are very nice companions. I offered them huge, fresh boiled on the spot califlower! And they liked is with a butter! Now Zdzich and Halina are driving the Europe with their campervan. Maybe someday I will join them?

Jul 29, 2022 08:00 PM Guest from California
There are already tomatoes and cucumbers in Wojtkówka ready to eat... My guests appreciate fresh veggies. Recently I hosted James from California. He made a choice of a small tent to sleep. Tent gives more privacy and you do not disturb other people sleeping in the cottage during the night - especially if you are forced to go out or in case you are snoring. There is a little pece of grass in the back of Wojtkówka to pitch the tent. James was happy there. Nothing like this in California!

Jul 23, 2022 08:00 PM Greatest Spanish traveller in Wojtkówka
I had a pleasure to host in my Wojtkówka one of the top travellers of the world - Jorge Sanchez. Jorge is my old friend. We met many years ago in Sana, Yemen. Later we were traveling toogether on Lena River to the Arctic Ocean and onward through Eastern Siberia to Magadan... I wanted to surprise Jorge and showed him on the outdoor screen my amateur video film from our expedition. He was happy... We had a good time!

Jul 22, 2022 08:00 PM Chapeau bas, Monika!
My old Friend, Monika Witkowska reached yesterday the summit of K2! We know each other since 30 years. For me she is the most-valued lady-traveller. Few people remember that before she started to climb the highest mountains of the globe she eas the brave solo traveller exploring West Africa even before I did - at the end of 20th century. Bravo Monika and watmest congratulations.
On the pic Monika is on my right.

You are welcome!

Jun 06, 2022 08:00 PM Back in Bari....
One week ago we started here our cruise. Hard to believe it was only one week because in the meantime we saw so many places. They allowed me to stay on the ship only to 11 am. Yhe temperature was 28 deg when, after second breakfast I eas walking in the full sun to the city bus stop located just nearby the blue terminal building. Nobody on the ship will tell you that: city bus no.50 goes from here to the railway station
The driver sells 1euro tickets... I jumped on the bus departing at 11.12 and changed bus for no 16 going to the airport.
So it cost me 2 euro. Cruise line charged 9 euro to the center of Bari. The airport terminal is small but modern. On the 3rd floor (up from the daparture hall) there is enough space to wait few hours for the flight...
Departure on time. Wizz attendents at the gate do not care about the size of the baggage but they require you to wear the mask! It willbe only 1 h 40 min flight to Wroclaw.

Jun 05, 2022 08:00 PM Split, 31 degrees Celsius....
I have been here before, but Split in Croatia is one of those places which are worth to see again after years, especially when the view from the deck 14 of our ship gives you absolutely new perspective! Lia - lovely Philippine lady from the crew gave me two portion of the juice (to put them into the bottle and take it ashore... Then I started the walk in the strong sun to the old. Walled city - called often Diokletian Palace... Then I walked the lovely coastal boulevard full of flowers and lined by palms. I met there little Maria from Georgia dreaming about travel to America by ship... The final accent was climcing to the viewpoint in Marjan park. This park covers the hihh on the western side of the bay. It offers great, panoramic view of Split. Just see the picture... It is really great place!

Jun 04, 2022 08:00 PM Ancona, no sun but still 29 deg...
When we were approaching Ancona in the morning first I saw high cliff and che churches on the hill nearby. Port of Ancona is big and ugly: the cruise shis dock in the cargo port surrounded by the piles of containers. The port authority provides free transport to the central Piazza Cavour. From there I started the climb to the cliff, expecting nice view. No... No sun today (but still 29 deg Celsius) so the sea is more grey than blue. On the cliff there is a path leading you to the old lighthouse and onward - to the cathedral. It was a nice walk with smelling rhododendrons around. At the cathedral's door there are two granite lions. Down in the town I found also nice squares, palaces andthe fountain of 4 horses (sorry, no water!)
Despite the ugly port Ancona is nice. But I did not have enough time to go by train to Loreto, where Polish war cemetery os located - the train timetable is reduced on Sundays!

Jun 03, 2022 08:00 PM Day in Venice...
Cruise ships now are not allowed to dock in Venice so our ship docked in Trieste. I bought the railway ticket for 15 euro each way and after 2 hours I was already at Santa Lucia station in lovely Venice. Like 48 years ago I was crawling the canals, bridges and narrow, atmospheric alleys with a crowd of the tourists from all over the world, walking from the station to Plaza San Marco. The basilica is at the restoration but other monumental buildings are still imposing. The gondolas charge already 80 euro for half an hour sailing, 100 euro in the evening. I was here during the time of black and white photography. Now I had a chance to register everything in colors. Hot and humid but lovely day!
