This phenomenon is universal and when I paint pictures I achieve an approximation of this by adding more redtothe mix for water than for the sky. I presume this has something to dowith the wavelength of the light being modified in the reflection. Any physicist out there with an explanation? I am alittle bit ashamed of my ignorance as Tyndall who first explained why the sky is blue, greww up just twelve kilometers from where i am sitting now!!
