I put this second only to the Folk Museum of those on the Bygdoy peninsula, reachable by bus or boat from the centre.
It contains the raft Kon-Tiki. I understand that Heyerdal's theory of how people reached easter island is not that highly regarded now - but there's no doubt that htis raft conveyed some. The thought of one's entire being concentrated into a small area of balsa wood on a massive ocean is pretty exciting and moving.
There are very gradual slopes in the museum, good for most disadvantaged people.
Th Ra II is also displayed here.
