Millions of years ago, rivers carried dead trees into the lowlands. Some trees were deposited on the plains adjacent to the rivers. Most of them decomposed and disappeared. But a few were petrified, becoming the beautiful fossilized logs we see today.

I really like this one, too. It's nice that the only real color in the photo is the sky but yet there is so much to look at.
