Well, I never thought of this thread developing as it has. I was just thinking that someone on the front page should be doing more for Globo than just writing. I was grateful for some points made and I have done a lot of destination reports and welcomes to new members. What with that and the visitors to my site, I'm glad to say I feel much less of a parasite now.

However I should like to come in on some of the later points.

I think that some unwanted acrimony may have developed so I want to express myself fully. Therefore I’ll put it together in another message.

Yes, Andy, Globo is such a good site, so international, so friendly and so much outstanding material flowing in. You have every right to be very proud of it. However I’m sure those who suggest alterations are only seeking to make a very good site even better. I think that should give you pleasure as well, that we think enough of Globo not to be writing all the time to maximise our own points but also to try to contribute some improvements. I don’t mean by this that you should necessarily like or adopt all ideas put forward but please don’t resent them. The other side of the coin is that we should recognise all the time and effort you put in and be a bit more patient and tolerant sometimes when things are just that bit short of perfection.

You said yourself that we should remember the fun of Globo in competitions. I couldn't agree more and I hope that we can all cooperate in keeping Globo at the top for excellence, technically and in contributions - and in fun.

Cheers, David

I now don't feel like a parasite no more. Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes I get hyperactive and wished things would move quicker than I hope. Patience is required and please always remind me of that. GLOBO is running well and fantastic (not perfect) at it is, with time and new members we can develope it, not child tempo, but solve one problem at a time all together and keep improvement ideas ready for new software versions. Every change in a databank system runs the risk of a crash. So as we say in german: "Halt! Laaangsaaam... gaaaanz... gaaaaanz... laangsaaam..." and I must learn that too... RR

Well, well, that's one bit of german I can still manage after 48 years!
