Hi everybody,

I would like to open this topic for all moderators, so you guys can give advice to each other and discuss moderation related topics.

If you all gather together and we get about 5-6 people to moderate the forums we can not only improve the quality of postings, but also heat the discussions. Last but not least new users can be more integrated when they get some related replies, so they will get more active in means of forums and other GLOBO activity.

Best regards,

Andy

Hi Andy

This topic is a good idea! :-)

I do have a question... Is there a possibility to change/edit topic names?

I did find some topics with a non significant name but with good content. When the name could be edited members could find relevant information easier.

Hi Christian

Well you asked Andy...

If you don't mind I give my views too.

If somebody wants to post a forum topic he sees this text next to the text input box:

>A word on advertisement:

>Please do not post any advertisement into the forums.

>

>All advertisement postings including email addresses and links will be

>deleted by our moderators anyway. A posting of this kind might do your

>business more harm then good The travelers on this community do want to

>use this place for communicating with each other, plus your data including

>IP-address will be added to our black list.

>

>If you are interested in promoting your business on GLOBOsapiens, please

>have a look on our advertisement section.

When reading through this lines theres no questioning

... no email adresses does the job

How do we add data and ip adresses to the black list and where is this list kept anyway?

If we moderators just delete a topic how can we/andy get the ip address?

Hi Andy / Moderators

What is you opinion about people searching for traffic on their travel sites?

i.E.

http://www.globosapiens.net/topic-anyone-interested-in-korea_40_1160_0000.html

which is this member: http://www.globosapiens.net/flygirl1

http://www.globosapiens.net/olamacau

Is such a posting acceptable?

Hi Mortimer,

this posting also attracted my attention - but the link is 'just' to an official website of seoul. I decided not to delete it - I think, if she would have included this link in a report about seoul, it would not have been a problem. Do you agree?

Have a nice weekend, Christian

Hi Christian

When I looked at the suggested site (seoulstyle) I found that she is the owner/administrator of the site, it's no official seoul site.

If you found this site and found it helpful and you posted it in your report then I would find it ok. But this is her site and when you look at her member profile she joined, posted her forum and travel log message and never returned again. Isn't this plain advertsing?

What do others think of that kind of membership and posting generally?

Did you also check out olamacau?

Hi Martin,

you're right - I should have taken more time to check her website. Now I think it has lost nothing in the forum. I'll wait until sunday evening with deleting it, maybe there are some more opinions.

I also checked olamacau - it also looks like an surreptitious advertisment.

I think the Korea, flygirl only wanted to leave her website URL. She has a travel log entry also promoting her website. ravinderkumarsi and bootlegga wrote in her guestbook and she never answered them She logged in once to register and never came back. I don’t think she is a genuine member.

The same holds good for Toni from Macau. I quite like his website, but he should not promote it in his web log, the way he did.

If both had taken the trouble to write a report and mention their websites in their report I would have no objections. But they way it is they only registered to promote their website. This is not what GLOBO is meant for.
