Leaving Kurilsk to the airport's by jorgesanchez

Iturup - Russia, Sakhalinskaya Oblast' Nobody knew exactly when our airplane would fly to Iturup to transport us to Sakhalin Island, because the service was in hands of the Russian Army. Some people were waiting in the airport already one month, sleeping on the floor, with blankets. After one week visiting Iturup Island I had enough of the Kuril archipelago. Travelling back to Korsakov by boat, as I did to get there, was out of question; nobody knew where the boat was! But, without roads, travelling in a military truck converted into a bus, will I reach the airport? Will the plane come? How many nights will I have to sleep in the airport waiting for the military plane? Will I have to pay a fine for having my Kuril permit expired?...
