information about armenia  GyumriArmenia, Gyumri
Gyumri must have been a very beautiful town 100 years ago, when it was called Alexandropol and belonged to the Russian Empire (in Soviet times it was called Leninakan). Look at this painting of the Merkurov Museum. Guymri was the second city in Transcaucasia, only behind of Tbilisi. Today is the forth in population after Tbilisi, Baku and Yerevan.
