Some people say that this is the most selected restaurant in Barcelona, founded in 1869. His owner and cook, Senor Carlos Gaig, is very well known in Spain and among his friends are presidents and rich people.
Gaig restaurant acts at the same time as a hotel, and the bar on the ground floor serves both customers, from the restaurant and from the hotel. Do not go downstairs because the hall there is a little sad and claustrophobic, without windows, while in the first floor (there is a lift) the atmosphere is much pleasant. The day that I was there I was told by the waiters that Spanish Princess Cristina (who lives in Barcelona) had been seated in my table the day earlier!
