hi there, 20 yr old from canada, also lookin to do some volunteer work in SE asia for a few weeks, looking towards Thailand / Philippines in 2007. I've got my teaching english overseas certificate, and am interested in teaching english, orphanage assistance, any projects that i can get involved with in a community. I'm also involved in a job right now that includes being a support worker for developmentally disabled individuals so i dont know if that would be something that people would consider when looking for volunteer workers. I've fell accross many organizations online, and you're right.. they charge an F load of money for something that someone wants to do for other ppl in good will... Any local organizations in Thai / Phil that DONT charge a huge dime , and will take in foreigners for volunteer work in the Thailand / Philippines region in exchange for accomodation?
