This picture is not taken on the Brough of Birsay.
It is taken in Birsay village, on Orkney Mainland.
You can just see the corner of the Brough, which is a (now) tidal island. The Brough shows remains of Medieval church buildings and of Viking homesteads, and is home to puffins and stunning seascapes.
The church of which this is the cemetery was built in the late 1700s and much altered in the late 1800s.
It is historically fascinating, but deserves to be more acurately identified.
