I hope the report brought back memories of your trip. Iguassu is such a wonderful place, you can't but enjoy the area and I tried to do it justice. That was my highest rated report and I'm gald you enjoyed reading it.

I was in Halong Bay, about 3 hours drive from hanoi Vietnam during the New year's Eve. I had some great seafood there...and during Christmas, i was in an ancient town called Hoi An, in Vietnam. Still couldn't find time to write on Vietnam,yet..will do soon.
Hope all is well. Hope you will have a splendid new year ahead...really wish you a good luck...Thanks for reading my reports..

Thanks for checking out my photos. As for Washington, DC, you didn't give me much to go on. I don't have any idea what your interests are.
Washington in January is likely to be bitter cold, and/or snowing. That will surely limit your activities. Can't your friend put off his wedding until May? ;)
Anyway, you will still want to do as much as possible. The subways are great, so you can get around even if the weather affects driving.
The highlight of my visit was the Capitol Building. It is so elegant and historic. But I love architecture, so that influences my choices. Next are the Smithsonian National Museums. I particularly liked the Museum of Natural History, The American Art Museum, and the Air and Space Museum.
You won't want to spend all of your time in museums, so take some time to go to Georgetown. It is the most "trendy" part of the city, with nice shops and great restaurants. Connecticut Ave is also nice for shopping.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for a nice sunset too. Have to say it was freezing cold and blowing a gale when i took this picture! A great way to blow away those lazy New Year cobwebs!
