it's interesting to read your + David's + Rafal's comment regarding my sunset picture. Thank you very much for that! Well, for me this picture is just a memory of a great evening in an unbelievable surrounding. But I'm pleased if you like it, too.

A small taste of the disaster here in Greece is that right now, flames are surrounding the ancient theatre of Olympia where the first Olympic Games were held! Very symbolic! Surviving through the centuries but not being able to escape the human evil!

With more than 50% of the country on fire, I don't have much to say anymore!My country is facing a total ecological and economical disaster. Ancient Olympia is surrounded by 3 different fires. A great effort is being made to save it. Dozens of villages are totaly burned. Hundreds of homeless people. Peloponissos is covered by flames living nothing than deaths and ashes behind.It brings tears to see the burned forrests, the burned mountains, the burned hearts. There's nothing to be seen there anymore. No living tree will remain!At least, we have memories of these places, something that cannot be said for the next generations. In June, my home really got burned too, from a big fire in Athens that destroyed an entire protected national park. I wonder when man will stop destroying nature!

Thank you for your wonderful care of me and my trip to Egypt! I will heed your advice - I feel safer with a driver or a guide, even with a son along. I will probably follow up with either Martin's or Ta-Shy's reference for tour companies. Amanda gave me one too.
I will error on the side of caution - especially since I have a child (okay,young teen) along!
