You don't need a guide just take a one day tour and then you will know where you are at. It's a small Island/City and everyone will tell you how to get where you want to go.
The first time I went the Singapore Tourist Board sent me a guide named "The Underground Places You Should See". It came in a brown paper bag. I wonder if they still have it.

Gloria,
India was maginificent (as you well know). I think is may be my favorite trip - I would do it again in a heart beat! I have already started my first report - I just need to finish it off and add pictures. I am a little nervous about writing on Jaipur and Agra - your reports are so beautfiul - mine will pale in comparison.
My Mother and Step-Father are taking a cruise around China and Thailand in November/early December. They are looking for a Guide in Singapore and also one in Bejing for half day each. I wondered if you might be able to suggest anyone or an agency I could direct them to.
