Dachau - Germany, Bayern This Nazi "concentration camp" (Konzentrationslager-) near Munich was the first and model to many others. About 200000 mainly political prisoners from 30 countries were held here during the war including about 7000 jews. The design eventually lead to the even more deadly "extermination camps". Two of 30 of the barracks here are rebuilt, the others are marked by foundations.
