Hallo Rudi
One of the best pitures i have seen about nature as it is.
What camera do you use?
rangutan - Mar, 24 2006 07:03pm
Camera? Never owned a SLR, sometimes borrowed one. From 1993 to current most like this are taken with a simple very portable 35mm $100 Olympus "nu" camera & the prints scanned! Now some pics digital..

Rangutan, SLR is so much nicer to use. It is also more precise. I use both a simple Olympus and Canon EOS, both digital. Canon's results are far better.

Thanks Boris, pleased it is top of my personal list. Anyone hoping that his/her picture be in the top 20 forever will be disappointed. There will be better stuff comming in as more people go digital.

,,harshness of desert is even stronger shown by this amazing shadows, couple palm trees are d best contrast to the burnout sand and rocks, this almost cruel environment is magnified by 'angry' clouds

Rudi, I truly appreciate all the comments and suggestions you wrote on my pictures page. Your photographs are all very impressive! I love this particular picture - great shot!

I often want to see a figure in landscapes to provide a sense of scale, but on reflection this is after all a desert...its supposed to be desolate! It is a splendid photo and it made me consider that due to the way the rocks are weathered, a camel might be able to use its prominent hump as camouflage! Is this telling us something about evolution?
rangutan - Dec, 30 2007 04:12pm
Stemcell, for a scale see this but note I am 190 and was 120kg:
