Goreme - Church with Sandals's by siffer

Goreme - Turkey, Nev¶ehir Requiring a greater leap of faith than the Apple Church's apple, this 11th C Open Museum church is named after two nonspecific depressions in the tufo characterized as sandals. Located immediately below a fresco of the Ascension, the believers imagine their location symbolic of the sandals of Jesus.
