Every few years we have a family reunion, this one in Atlanta. Hardly having heard about it, I discovered that its the center of a lot of things in history, business and air travel.

Set on the Chattachoochee River at near the Appalachian mountains, Atlanta was once known as Terminus because it was the end of a major railway line. Now capital of Georgia, it's the center of a lot of international corporations and a lot of road routes and airline links pass through it. Being so central to the US east, if not headquarter then, more american companies have offices in Atlanta than any other.
Opinion: A relatively small city, around half a million, another report describes it as chaotic but then most cities have their good and bad points and sectors. Learning what to see and not see (keep out of trouble folks) makes Atlanta worth a stop-over.

Coca-Cola Headquarters: taste and see what quenches the worlds thirst best. Nice multimediashows including the history of their advertising and info of production and distribution through the years. Interesting to see how various product-advertising and design strategies are tailor-made to suite (pun) each country.

Covered court of CNN Center

CNN Center: have a tour which shows the workings of global news broadcasting. Visitors have the opputunity to take part in the regular "Talk Back Live" shows (copy of the show can be forwarded by post for a fee) and see the news rooms live and in action. Theres also a big souvenier and gimmick shop.

The various family chains of restaurants all offer good service and classical food at cut prices.
I have never understood why coke is served with so much ice in america, even in winter, like ice-with-cola!

Stone Mountain National Park:
Like one huge Rock, the carving of three herous into the face of the mountain is the worlds largest, coveres the size of a football field! The planning started in 1915 and the finishes completed in 1972. A cableway takes one to the top the mountain for a great view and nice walk to the summit.
Near the Park is the Antebellum Plantation, a preserved display through the 1800's way of life.
