Botswana was one of the nicest surprises we came across when we visited this country with it's friendly people and terrific wildlife. Especially when you drive with a 4x4 there is a lot to discover! Driving thru tick sand or on the enormous salt pans, adventure still exists in Botswana! Camping with wildlife all around you in Moremi and Chobe is a trill not to be taken to lightly with those who are the scary type...
Favourite spots:
Moremi and Chobi National Parks, Kubu Island and the big Baobabs. The Okavango delta is one of the last remaining natural wonders of the world. A pity that the entrance fees are so high...
What's really great:
Experiencing the close encounters with wildlife and the feeling that it's all there for you alone.
Sights:
Chapman's and Greene's Baobabs.
Accommodations:
Sedia Hotel in Maun. At the borders of the Okavango and Moremi National Park.
Gweta's Restcamp near the Saltpans.
