I just got home from a great vacation in Malia. The Greek weather is very good, it is very hot so not that good for an active vacantion but for relaxing it was perfect. Malia has a very good beach, with hardly any rocks(different than Chersonissos). It's nightlife is perfect. Malia has a great variety of bars and clubs so it's strange if you don't have fun... Crete has more to offer you than just Malia so I recommend you to rent a car. Do that and you will see Greece at its best. We went riding to the Lasithi Plateau, in the inlands of Crete. You drive through very beautiful nature and along the way you can visit nice little places, for example Krassi. We went there and had a very nice typical Greek meal there, which was very good. The Greek people are very friendly and enjoy your interest in their country. Some farther away from Malia is the Samaria cove. This is one of the most beautiful national parks in Europe. You can take a hike in here for 18 km! in the sun! great fun!
Favourite spots:
The Samaria cove is very beautiful and a must do on Crete! The Lasithi plateau is also very beautiful and you also have to visit a nice little Greek village, meet with the Greek people and get to know their culture!

The friendliness of the Greek people and the beauty of their island, Crete. Samaria cove, Lasithi plateau and off course the nightlife!

Cretan Family restaurant has very good Greek food and also the normal meat stuff.
