Summer camp at Maloja

Though I've been there many times before, it's still a great adventure. I visit the hotel Maloja Palace once in a while as a campleader. So I pretty much know the area...

The Hotel Maloja Palace
Maloja is a very small village not far from Sankt-Moritz, a world know ski-city where only people with money live. But you don't notice that in Maloja. There, it's all peace and quietness. The surroundings are high mountains, lots of forests, and great lakes. Maloja itself is at the altitude of 1816m. This means during winter: skiing and during summer: hiking!! It is very close to the Italian border, which makes it possible to visit that country easily too.

Favourite spots:

I love to hike to the San Paulo cabin, just over the Italian/Swiss border. It is a cabin, high in the mountains with no water or electricity. Staying there means living very primitive.

What's really great:

I like the nature and the landscape. It has so many different viewings and features in it which makes it all so special...

Accommodations:
You have a vita parcours, which means you can do some exciting bridge-travelling.
Also MTB is possible in the area.
On the lake you can do things like sailing, surfing, kite-surfing, etc.
There are lot's of travelling paths through the woods and mountains.

Restaurants:
A variety of restaurants can be visited in the village. Eachone with it's own characteristics of course. Most of them serve Swiss specialities.
