Montreal, my city!

Montreal travelogue picture
I've lived in Montreal for 15 years now and I love it! There is such a mix of cultures.

Beautifull, divers and multicultural, Montreal has an great mix of different nationalities, every corner you incounter someone diffrent, you experience part of another's culture.

Living so close to downtown is great because I don't have a car. Montreal is known for it's horible traffic, if you have to go from the island to the suburbs in the morning or around 5pm, you will have to endure a very slow trip. Montreal's bridges at those times are hell. But the rest of the time you can appriciate this city to it's fullest.

Montreal has a lot of great festival like the Montreal Jazz Fest and Montreal in Lights, Fantasia, Francopholies, Just For Laught, most of those are in the summer. Oh, and of course at St-Patrick's Day, all of Montreal is Irish.

Favourite spots:

My favorite spots include a few pubs like of course the Peel Pub, quite known, and the Cock&Bull. For clubs, go take a walk on either St-Denis or St-Laurent streets, the best clubs are around there. And if you like fresh air, you have to go take a walk to the top of Mount-Royal. By day or by night, it is beautiful! You can follow the trail, with the stairs, or find your own way up through the trees. And what a view when you get to the top!

What's really great:

What I like best is the diversity of cultures in Montreal. See I like good cooking, and specially foreign. Downtown Montreal you can find any kind of food you want. Libanese, Vietnamese, Greek, Mexican, the best is 3 Amigos, on St-Catherine street, and many, many more!!
