Bella Napoli

  9 votes
Naples was my final destination in Italy this time. I went there with my fiance to visit his sister. Instead of staing a few days, we bothered poor people for a whole week.

After seing Venice, Naples was a sort of a dissapointment for me. I expected it to be as nice as it is in songs, but I find it very dirty and poluted. Apart from that, Naples has beautiful architecture to offer, divine little streets, beautiful Gallerias...

Favourite spots:
My favorite spot in Naples was Archeological Museum and Pompei. Well ok... Pompei is not exactly in Naples, but it's very close to it. To be honest, I enjoyed walking through Naples inspite of it's smell. One of favorite spots is a little caffe whos name I forgot, but it is on the Mediterenian Sea, very close to the Citadel.

What's really great:
I especially liked the food in Naples... I don't think I have ever eaten such delicious food! Especially Frutti di Mare and pizza, of course....

Sights:
If you come to Napoli, it would be ashame not to visit Pompei as the most important sight. That is a day trip and be prepared for a long walk. Put some comfy shoes on, sunglasses and a hat. You can go with an organized group, rent a digital guide or pay someone that will surely offer you his services for the day to be your guide.
Let's not forget the Vesuvius. The great volcano...
Archeological museum is the perfect ending of pompei tour. Ok, it'll take another day but it's well worth it!

Accommodations:
Ok... We stayed at my fiance's sister, so I can't talk about this. But what I can say is that there is a fantastic kannel (doggy hotel) in a village near Naples. The price is 12 EUR per day, and it includes food and everyday walking the dog.

I will post exact information on this subject soon.

Restaurants:
As I have mentioned food, I must say that you can't make a mistake with food in Italy. No matter where you eat, if it's a street vendor, a fancy restaurant, a family restaurant, the food is delicious!
