I really couldn't say how many times I've been in Novi Sad. But I know that I haven't been there enough... Whenever I come there, something new pops up... How is that possible?!
Serbian National Theatre
Novi Sad is an old city placed in Vojvodina on bank of Danube. It is the second biggest city in Serbia and Montenegro. It's architecture was in great influenced by Hungarian. You could say that it is the cultural centre of SCg. The first impression you get about Novi Sad is how calm it is. And it is calm... At some point... It's night life is more than vivid and young people from all over Serbia come there looking for fun. Restaurants are always nice with fantastic food... I guess I should tell you that food is very important in Vojvodina and people there pay much attention to it.
Favourite spots:
Petrovaradin Fortress
The symbol of Novi Sad is Petrovaradinska Tvrdjava or The Fortress. It is a place where you can take a walk, enjoy in some restaurant or caffee... And the symbol of the fortress is the old clock. One would say that it is an ordinary old clock, but that i where you are very wrong! There is nothing ordinary about that clock! Why? Well, the small hand shows minutes and the big shows hours... :)) The other favorite spot of mine is the river and especially Fishermen's Island (Ribarsko ostrvo or Ribarac as it is popularly known) and Strand. During the summer, you get the impression that you are at some hot seaside resort...
What's really great:
Dunavska Street
In the centre of the city is Dunavska Street... Beautiful... It looks like the time has stopped there... One look at this short street captures your breath and heart... Straight from it you get to Dunavski Park... One beauty, after another...
