I have to say I was not really sure what to expect from Prague/Praha, but I was definitly very pleased! Actually smaller then I pictured but by no means lacking things to do and see. I spent 6 days there and would have been prefectly happy staying a little more.
Favourite spots:
Wandering the streets in the old town is a must and of course you've got to visit the castle, but my favorite was a hike out of the center city into the hills surrounding prague, besides the great views it was interesting to see the non touristic side of the city.
What's really great:
I was incrediably impressed with Czech cuisine, maybe it was only because the exchange rates made it a little easier to afford a full fledge meal!
Accommodations:
I stayed in the Travelers Hostel Dlouha, which althogh pricer then some other options made up for the extra euro or two with its location. I would definitly recomend it.
Nightlife:
There was a Jazz Club in the old part of town called Ultgelds (sp?), live music every night in a cave under the city dating back to the 15th century, good time.
Restaurants:
It it is must to travel a little of the beaten track and stop into a smaller local tavern. It rained/snowed on us one day so we stopped in for a 3 hour dinner at a place called Strova Posta, or something along those lines. a 5 minute walk East of Vaclavske nam on the road Oplatalova. Good affordable Czech food and they barley spoke any english, always a good sign that you've found something less touristy!
