Praia is a small, yet in some ways big, city... and it is rapidly growing. With growth comes good characteristics as well as bad; and Praia has taken both. There is a lot to do -- art and music shows, beaches, movies, shopping, etc. It is literally the center of Cape Verdean life. However, the crime rate has increased immensely in the past year alone, especially towards foreigners.

Plateau and Sucupira for shopping and eating; Prainha beach; Zero Horas Discoteca; Bar on Quebra Canela Beach; Bar Kimbus in Achada Sto. Antonio; Draggoiero (restaurant that serves only grilled food) in Achada Sto. Antonio; Garden Grill Restaurant in Fazenda....
What's really great:
I live here, and I'm not a big fan of it...however, I enjoy the diversity of entertainment that can be found here...and you're just a few minutes/hours away from the interior of the island...
