The main port for West Africa, this is a pretty big city. Lots of shopping and trading goes on here....you can get things from all over West Africa in Dakar, not just Senegalese goods (including food!)

Down by the port is a cool, centralized market place, but be careful--it's quite touristy! Goree Island is fascinating and full of history!
